How is the color administered?  Will my student be hurt or harmed?
No, it does not hurt at all. The color is a cornstarch powder, which is food grade quality, 100% nontoxic, completely biodegradable, made in the USA.

How do I protect my eyes and/or airways during the run?
As with any substance, you want to keep it out of your eyes. We ask our color throwers (volunteer parents/faculty) to make sure and aim low as students pass by. Students can bring goggles or wear their new sunglasses to protect their eyes. Participants can bring bandanas or dust masks from home to protect their airways.

Will the color ruin clothes or running shoes?
The color does mostly wash out after the event. As with anything dirty, the sooner you wash it the better. We suggest wearing clothing you don’t mind getting colorful. If you would like to preserve the color in your running shirt, spray it with vinegar and iron it. But if you wash it, the color will eventually will come out. Please bring a towel for the insides of cars, just in case.

Can spectators attend the Color Run?
Yes!  We recommend covering cameras/phone with a plastic wrap if you are trying to take photos in the middle of color zones.
